One morning this past January I woke up, looked in the mirror, and instead of feeling insecure about my appearance, I mostly just felt sad. Not just because I had gained weight in the year prior, but because I had to accept and realize I had given up on myself and my health. I had always been in shape, athletic, and driven to remain healthy. About 2 years ago, I moved to Chicago and found myself losing my good exercise and health habits due to my new job schedule. Instead of recognizing my problems, I gave into excuses, laziness, and most importantly I gave into negativity. The New Year came and I decided I had enough of these behaviors. I knew I needed and wanted to make a change. I typically don’t make new years’ resolutions, mostly because I don’t believe it them. Most individuals never stick to a “diet,” or “workout plan” as they intend. Thus, I don’t like to look at the New Year as the only time to reinvent myself or reinvest in myself. Any change worth making should be something we practice forever, at any time. But a week after the New Year, I have my birthday, which is undoubtedly a time we all may look back on the previous year and envision what may lay ahead. This year I made a mental checklist, reviewing where I was personally, professionally, physically, and mentally. The list did not add up. It fell short and mostly in the physical and mental categories. I knew it was time for a change.
In the past, my weight has always fluctuated by 10-15 pounds during times of stress or depending on the season. Every time I have gained weight, I have been able to take it off with mere adjustments in my diet and exercise habits. In January of this year, I weighed the most I ever had in my entire life. My usual weight loss tactics and dietary changes did not seem to help as they usually did in the past. I simply could not lose more than 5 to 10 pounds on my own. It was disappointing. I decided I needed support to lose the amount of weight that I was hoping for. Through a search online I found Options Weight Loss. While I had taken part in several diets before, including and not limited to, Weight Watchers, HMR, Atkins, and Nutrisystem, I knew I wanted to find a program that I could not only eat real foods, that I could prepare myself, but also a program where I had couching, counseling, and was made accountable for my actions. Options was that program. Weekly visits were incredibly motivating and kept me on track. The diet, while difficult at first, became easier and easier as time went by. I was shocked how quickly I could lose the weight by simply following the diet plan. With all the programs I’ve tried in the past, nothing delivered results like this and I couldn’t be happier. If you stick with the plan and give up any excuses this program works. Even more exciting, I was eating real food that I was preparing myself, making the program more realistic in the long run to adopt and continue years later. At this point, I couldn’t be happier with my progress. I am thankful to have found the program and would encourage anyone who asks me how I lost weight to inquire with the company. I am so thankful to Options for helping me get back on track. No matter what the outcome, I’ve already personally won. I have my health and my confidence back. It does not get better than that!
